C.L. Monaghan was born and raised in Lincolnshire in the UK, though she's lived in South Africa (a land of adventure and cheetah kisses!!) and has been known to pop across the pond to the US for book events. An avid reader first, she was inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien, Enid Blyton, Stephen King, Terry Pratchett, and friend and mentor, indie author Ednah Walters (RIP), who encouraged C.L. to write what she wanted to read. And so, C.L. Monaghan's debut novel, Immaginario, brought her book boyfriend to life! A B.A. honours degree in History and English literature feeds her creative and ensnaring paranormal romance and gothic mystery novels, which have won several awards to date, including placing as finalists in their genres in the IAN Book of the Year Awards in 2017/18 and Readers' Favourite Awards in 2018/19. A self-confessed Scotophile, C.L. Monaghan now lives in Fife with her husband, 2 boys whom she homeschools, 2 cats and Casper the miniature schnauzer. Fighting breast cancer in 2020 hasn’t dampened her creative spirit, she is now working away on her first Templar Knight’s novel as well as brushing up on her graphic design and book cover design skills.
